The Sword in the Sprawl is a project by Matthew Scarpa that began in 2018. The show itself is a blend of Robin Hood and Dungeons & Dragons, thrown into modern-day Los Angeles, and animated for ages twelve and up.

 

The show follows Cid, a foster home runaway, as he steals from the rich and gives to the needy mythical creatures living under L.A. in "the Sprawl." As Cid robs his way to the top with the help of his friends Magus and Lorraine, he searches for Excalibur in the hopes that he can use it to help the people around him -- or sell it and at least buy them all a nice place to live and a life on easy street. Along the way, he'll face threats, challenges, and obstacles thanks to villains such as Gilbert, a power-hungry crime boss who's looking for the sword for his own nefarious purposes.
